The other day a friend of mine was talking to me about the CD and the song Mary came up. He wanted to know what color her hair was. This caught me off guard because when I wrote the song I knew what color her hair was. In fact, I was pretty sure I said it in the song. So I stood there and ran the song through my head in fast forward only to discover that I had forgotten the color of her hair. Oops.

So thanks, Dan. As for the color of her hair... I guess from now on you can leave it to your imagination.

So tonight I was fiddling with this new thing that Apple's got: the iTunes Music store. I was pretty skeptical about it, but it's actually pretty damned cool. Right now it's a Mac only thing, but it should be coming for PC later this year. There are a lot of artists up there right now and some have exclusive songs up. You can preview everything at high quality. The best part is you can pick and choose what songs you want. Every album I saw was going for $9.99 or $.99 a song. So let's say there's a couple songs you heard on the radio that you want. You open up iTunes and there's a button you click on to go to the store. You click on the artist and pick the album, and you can check out the other stuff on that album. Maybe the rest of it sucks. Now you don't have to buy the whole album, you can just grab those songs you want. You add them to your shopping cart or 1-click and you're done.

I'm still comparing the sound quality to see how good it really is, but so far it doesn't sound any worse than an MP3. If you've got a Mac, you should check this out.

This month I've been pretty quiet so I figured I'd just drop in a quick update. I've been keeping busy in my personal life. Maybe I'll have more on that next month. On the music side, I've been working on some new songs which I'll hopefully have ready for my show in Chicago next month. Beyond that I guess I'm sort of on a musical vacation of sorts which has been nice. Wish I had more to say, but I don't right now. Maybe more before the end of the month.

This is generally one of my favorite times of the year because it's the start of the summer movie season. I saw a couple this weekend. X-Men 2 was pretty entertaining. I wasn't a big fan of the first one, but I really enjoyed this one. This isn't a deep thinking movie, but it's a fun blockbuster.

Next up I saw Identity. I was hearing good buzz on it so I decided I'd check it out. It was interesting at first, but I figured it out pretty early on so then it turned into a predictable thriller whodunit flick for me. It's not a bad flick, I've just seen too many of them like this. I don't enjoy watching movies where I can tell when they're going to try and make me jump. Predictable movies can still be interesting and entertaining at times, but I was hoping for more from this one.
