The time is flying by for me these days, and as much as I hate to say it I have been enjoying a little time away from making music. I keep trying to get started back up but quickly realize I need a little more time off. I think I'm done with the time off now, but I might be wrong. It's been nice, though. But the itch to play is growing, and the itch to write is there, too. We'll see what happens. I'm not going to make any promises at this point because I would just like to take my time and see what happens right now. I've been practicing this for a couple months now, and I've been pretty happy with the results. You don't necessarily accomplish as much, but maybe that's not always such a bad thing.

At any rate there are some things that are kind of happening. Chicagogigs.com did a review not too long ago that blew me away. They do a pretty good job staying up to date on the ever evolving Chicago music scene so go check it out.

I was recently selected for the 30 Best Bands promotion at Cornerband.com. Every three months their crack staff pick 30 bands to highlight for three months. Part of the deal with Cornerband is that you can download a lot of the music there--including mine--through Kazaa, and it's completely legal.

Speaking of legal downloads. I received an email from CDBaby today regarding digital distribution. The iTunes thing is taking a lot longer than they planned. They just started sending all the music they're distributing to:
- Rhapsody
- Emusic
- AOL's MusicNet
- MusicMatch
- BuyMusic
- AudioLunchbox

So you should be able to find Falling Off the Merry-Go-Round there very soon.

For those of you who can't wait, there is actually a better deal for you through my label/management company Dive Productions. They just set up a new website strictly for the record which you can find at www.fallingoffthemerrygoround.com. If you order the album through the website, not only will you get a hard copy of the CD with all the fancy artwork, you'll also get to download the entire album while you're waiting for the disc to come in the mail. You'll also get an exclusive outtake from the disc. It's a version of one of the songs on the record that almost made the final cut, but I decided to release the one that's on there instead. You'll have to order the disc to find out which song it is.

I'll try and make an effort to update this more often, but like I said I'm not making any promises. So until then....
