Just a little quick thing. I'm reading this great new book right now called "So You Wanna Be a Rock and Roll Star" by a guy named Jacob Slichter. You've probably never heard of Jake, but he was/is the drummer for the band Semisonic. If you listened to radio in 1998 you--like other radio listeners--are probably all too familiar with their song "Closing Time". The book is all about the bands' rise and fall written from a drummer's perspective. It's a a great and entertaining read; you don't need to be a musician to enjoy it. This is one of the most honest looks at how the music business really works written without the contempt that you so often find in books about how the music business really works. If you're looking for something cool to read this summer while you're sitting on the beach, go grab a copy of this book.
